The idea of Royal Penguin Ultra Marathon was conceived four years ago when Elka, a Canadian international who is also the chief organizer of the event, came to Nepal for the first time to trek around the Everest region. She was not only enchanted by the beauty of the region, but felt so deep in love with it that she returned every year.
She then joined her group of friends, who had been coming to Nepal for trekking for several years. She says it has been one of the best decisions she made in her life so far.
